Sound Familiar?
Are You Facing These Problems?
You formed a company but have not started trading yet
You were told a dormant company has nothing to file

Why It Matters
Why Dormant Companies Still File
Dormant means no significant accounting transactions in the financial year. It does not mean invisible. The filing obligation continues for as long as the company exists on the register.
Stays On the Register
Filing keeps the company in good standing while it waits.
Cheaper Than Full Accounts
A dormant filing is far shorter than trading accounts, and priced accordingly.
Dormancy Checked
We confirm you actually qualify before filing on that basis.
Deadline Managed
Your accounts reference date tracked and flagged in advance.
Name Protected
Keeps a company name held while your plans firm up.
Ready to Restart
A properly maintained company can begin trading without unwinding a backlog.

Avoid These
Common Mistakes We See
Believing dormant means nothing to file
Dormant companies file dormant accounts and a confirmation statement. The obligation does not disappear.
Filing dormant after trading
Any significant transaction usually ends dormancy. Filing dormant accounts anyway creates an inaccurate record.
Forgetting HMRC entirely
Companies House and HMRC are separate. Your position with HMRC needs addressing too.

Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as dormant?
Broadly, a company with no significant accounting transactions in the financial year. Certain limited transactions are disregarded. We review your position before filing on a dormant basis, because filing dormant accounts for a company that has traded creates an inaccurate record.
Does a dormant company still file a confirmation statement?
Yes. Dormancy affects your accounts, not your confirmation statement. Both are due.
What if the company has traded a little?
Then dormant accounts are probably not the right filing, and we will tell you so rather than file them anyway. Full statutory accounts would be needed instead.
Does this cover HMRC as well?
This service is the Companies House filing. We will explain your HMRC position for the same period, but any Corporation Tax filing is handled separately.
How long can a company stay dormant?
There is no fixed limit. A company can remain dormant for years as long as it keeps filing. Many founders hold a company this way while plans develop.
Is it cheaper than normal accounts?
Yes, considerably. A dormant filing is far shorter than trading accounts because there is no trading activity to report.
