Sound Familiar?
Are You Facing These Problems?
You are bringing in a co-founder or business partner
A director is leaving and wants to be removed from the record
You want to step down but are still listed publicly
The company needs a director appointed quickly
You are unsure what paperwork sits behind the filing
A previous change was never actually filed
Why It Matters
Why Director Changes Get Filed Properly
A director on the public record carries duties and exposure. Until a resignation is filed, the register still says you are a director of that company — with everything that implies.
Board Changes Recorded
Appointments and resignations reflected accurately on the register.
Duties End When Filed
A resignation that is never filed leaves you publicly listed as a director.
Paperwork Behind It
The board resolution and consent that should sit behind the filing, drafted properly.
Registers Updated
Your statutory register of directors updated, not just the Companies House record.
Overseas Directors
Non-resident appointments handled, including the identification details required.
Filed Within the Window
Companies House expects director changes promptly, not eventually.

Avoid These
Common Mistakes We See
Resigning informally
Telling people you have resigned is not the same as filing it. Until it is filed, the public record still names you.
Skipping the board paperwork
The filing is the visible part. The resolution and consent behind it are what make the change properly documented.
Forgetting the service address
A new director gets a public service address. Without one, their home address goes on the register.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this cover both appointments and resignations?
Yes. It is £80 per change, whether you are appointing a director or removing one. They are the same filing in opposite directions.
How quickly must a director change be filed?
Companies House expects director changes to be notified promptly after they take effect. It is not a filing to leave sitting, particularly a resignation.
I resigned but I am still listed. Why?
Almost always because the resignation was never filed. Telling the company you have resigned does not update the public register — the filing does.
Can a non-resident be appointed as a director?
Yes. U.K. companies can have directors resident anywhere. We handle the identification and address details Companies House requires.
Can you remove a director who refuses to go?
No. A contested removal is a statutory process and usually needs a solicitor. This service covers changes the parties agree on.
Will my home address become public?
Not if a service address is used. A new director should have one in place before the appointment is filed, and we cover that as a separate service.
